Jonathan Clerke

B.Sc (Hons), B.Phty – [Member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association]

Jonathan is the owner and Principal Therapist of IceFire Physiotherapy. He has 24 years experience as a Physiotherapist. Before his Physiotherapy Degree, he studied diseases caused by parasites, microbiology and zoology at the University of Queensland. Thus he brings to his practise a broad base of knowledge in health, research and uncommon disease syndromes.

Whilst completing his Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland, he was awarded the Helen Rigby Memorial Prize with one other physiotherapist. Jonathan has had papers published in peer-review international scientific journals:

He has spoken to various professional groups such as the Creche and Kindergarten Association of Queensland.
Jonathan Clerke has many interests outside of being a Physiotherapist, as evidenced by authoring the Christian apologetics book titled Echoes of Jesus: Does the New Testament Reflect What He Said?

Matthew Clifford

B.Sc, B.Phty, Dip.Remedial.Massage - [Member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association]

Matthew originally trained as a Remedial Therapist but then later qualified as a physiotherapist through the University of Queensland. He joined the IceFire Physiotherapy team in early 2018, and his special interests include acute back pain, lower limb injuries and rehabilitating hand injury patients.

Matthew’s fascination of the sciences in school led him to study a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biochemistry at QUT, following that his desire to help people lead him to do a Certificate IV in Swedish Massage followed by a Diploma in Remedial Therapy. Matthew returned to university one last time to complete a Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy and has since found a passion for combining massage, dry needling and exercise to help his patients.

Before joining the team Matthew completed a number of hospital placements focusing in the musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory, orthopaedic and neurology fields. He completed a post-graduate course in dry needling in early 2018 and continues to work on the weekend as a Sport’s Trainer during the soccer and rugby seasons at Nudgee College.
